Activities
We regularly go on day trips at the request of the team members and we have a social night out once a month. The team members choose what they would like to do. We have been to concerts e.g. Joe Dolan, Westlife, Foster and Allen, we have been to lots of different restaurants, we also have been to musicals and plays and often go bowling and to the cinema. We usually run the social night on the last Thursday of the month and the centre is closed the following day. All of the clients in Trim have their own money and are responsible for ordering and paying for themselves when they go out. There are two types of activities that go on in MIDWAY Trim. They are in service programmes and community based activities. They are listed below:

Some of our Ladies are members of the A.L.P.S social club. In February some of these ladies as members of the A.L.P.S. social club went away for the weekend to Wicklow with the group. The weekend was a great success and was a great experience for all of the ladies from the club as it allowed the ladies to
- feel socially accepted
- feel an active member of the group
- experience choice
- become more independent
- experience new adventures
- feel in control of their own lives

Extra things that go on in MIDWAY Trim: Some clients go to the local supermarket independently every day.
On different days clients make their own lunches.
All clients go to the VEC for their numeracy and literacy class.
Clients have their PCP (Person Centred Plan) completed and their goals are being achieved on a daily basis.
All clients have their own money and pay for everything themselves.
Clients lodge money into the Credit Union social account and are signatories on the account.
Clients go away on weekends away e.g. Cork, Wexford, Wicklow or Dublin.

| Social Nights Out
Once a month all clients go on a social night out. We collect money every week from clients and lodge it into the Credit Union for the night out. We have a key worker meeting where clients decided what or where they would like to go or what they would like to do for their social night out. Normally after our social night out our centre is closed the following day as our social night is normally a late one!
Places we have been for our social nights include:
- Out for meals to various restaurants
- To the cinema
- To a local pub to hear some music.
- Bowling
- Theatre, plays, musicals and concerts
- Greyhound racing
- Weekends Away

What this means for the clients:
- They feel socially accepted
- They feel an active member of the group
- It enables them to experience choice
- It enables them to become more independent
- It allows them to experience new adventures
- It allows them to feel in control of their own lives
