MIDWAY Kells Local Service
Midway Kells Local Service was opened in December 2007 to facititate more independent team members. We believe that smaller centres are the way forward as each team member gets a more person centred service which suits their needs. Thus each team member gains independence and confidence. We are situated in Farrell Street Kells, beside D & D's fruit and vegetable shop.
What we do?
Our centre is person centre driven.
The team members make their own daily choices and are independent in running their service. Every team member has their own money and are responsible for managing it themselves. The following is some of the activities we do on a daily basis: community based activities: Mass, library, out for lunch, launderette, hairdressers, barbers, social nights out, post office (collecting their own disability allowance), beauticians, V.E.C. classes (e.g. cooking for fun), out for afternoon tea, grocery shopping for the centre, using public transport, and day trips.
