MIDWAY Kells: Climber Hall Service

Climber Hall Service is a purpose built centre established in September 2001 and forms part of a network of eight centres within the MIDWAY Service. We are situated on the Oldcastle Rd (R168) in Kells next to the Fire Station. We are central to all amenities and within walking distance to Kells Shopping Centre and with easy access to Banks, Post Office, Credit Union, Doctors, Chemist, Library, Hotel, Restaurants etc. We are centrally located to develop service and programmes that are community and educationally based.

Person Centred Plans

The Programmes and activities available to people attending the service are all Person Centre Planning orientated. Click here to visit Person Centred Planning web page. Person Centred Plans is the driving force in each service and forms the future plan for MIDWAY. Over the past two years we have completed 30 P.C.P's at the Kells service. This has been a positive process in divining the goals and needs of each person that has completed their plan.

The Community based Programmes are developed through the Person Centred Plan process like:

  • Shopping
  • Community awareness
  • Savings Scheme Dieticians
  • Work/work experience
  • Using local transport i.e. taxi, buses
  • Library
  • Hair salon
  • Beauty salon
  • Lunches out
  • Social outings

We place an importance on education and have an excellent programme to develop numeracy and literacy skills with a great deal of input from our V.E.C. teachers.

We are developing a Rehabilitative Training Programme, which would incorporate all of the above in measured modules. Our service is very much family orientated and would encourage family inclusion in the development through the P.C.P. process. We have an open house policy to deal with any problem parents might have. We like as they say to be user friendly, the service is their service and developed for the person
