MIDWAY Beechmount Service
MIDWAY Beechmount is the longest established centre in the whole organization. Day services have been operating out of this centre since 1982. We offer a wide range of programmes and activities as outlined below.
Some of our clients here at MIDWAY Beechmount like to do things in their own time. We work with these clients at a pace that suits them. For these programmes we like to focus on conversation, sharing, team building skills, taking turns, prayer, relaxation and of course our social outings. This type of learning suits our clients who have been with us quite a while and the younger ones who find the hustle and bustle all a bit too much.

Leisure programmes

Horse riding, swimming, gym, occasional bowling, sports days, athletics and links to Special Olympics and active retirement and sports programme.

Educational Programmes

Programmes currently running in Beechmount are skills for living, arts and crafts, relaxation, computers, literacy, catering skills, personal development, self advocacy, health and safety. We also facilitate our clients by attending local classes in the VEC.

Supported Employment

All supported employment is co-ordinated out of Midway Supported Employment Service. They also run programmes on learning about the world of work but mainly focus on job sampling, work experience and supported employment which is paid work.

Mtec / Rehabilitative Training

This is a programme that runs for three years which has very specific goals and objectives which have to be achieved over the course of that time. Any client who is on this programme is facilitated to reach these goals. For more information please click here to see Mtec link

Social

We at MIDWAY help to promote social activity on a daily basis. We link into the many activities taking place in the local community.

Community

We are also trying to help our clients to become as independent as possible in the community. To this end we are working on assessing how well somebody can function independently in their community and designing programmes so that people can be as safe as possible in the community
